Today, I am extremely frustrated at the fact that we have yet another snow-day!! I realize we need to be safe and I am thankful that I did not have to worry about getting my kids home safely in this wintry mess, but at the same time, I am concerned about collecting my data (and doing it correclty), as well as ensuring my students are not only prepared for their spring state wide assessment, but also sixth grade.
Any suggestions on better time management? I feel like I get through an instructional day and ask myself what I've done!
Happy blogging,
Emily
Emily,
ReplyDeleteThey called another snow day again today and I have the same worries about my research. I have not been able to start using the Cornell Notes, therefore no data has been collected. In terms of data, what are you planning on collecting? I am still trying to figure out what instruments I am going to use.
Brittany,
DeleteWe have another snow day today as well and I am certain you share my frustrations. As for right now, the only data that I have is the pre assessment data, but that's only because I did that around Christmastime. I plan on instructing my students with a short Six Traits Lesson and then having them complete a writing sample. After, I will score it using a Six Traits rubric...so my process of scoring writing samples does take some time, and that's why I am so concerned with all of our snow days.
Does that even make sense? Not sure I clearly answered your question.
Try to enjoy your day,
Emily
